ABOUT US

Our Beginnings

Hi! We're Angela and Kris!

Olde Rusty Barn didn’t start with a business plan — it started with one unexpected find.

We picked up an old seed counter at Renninger’s , brought it home, and reinvented it into a candy display (pictured). That one project flipped a switch for us. We realized we didn’t just like old things… we loved bringing them back to life and giving them purpose again.

From there, we were hooked. (continued below)

Before long, we were spending our weekends chasing the hunt — estate sales, flea markets, yard sales… anywhere a great piece might be waiting. Kris naturally gravitated toward certain categories, I gravitated toward others, and we built a collection that reflected what we genuinely enjoyed.

But here’s the thing: loving antiques doesn’t mean you’re an expert in everything. That’s actually one of the reasons the vendor model made so much sense to us. When you walk into a mall with great vendors, you’re not getting “one person’s taste”… you’re getting multiple specialties under one roof.

So we started looking for a place to call our own, a place to serve the Belleview and Ocala community with a great place to add to other's hunt for that next great piece

The moment we walked into this building (which used to be a daycare), we knew this was it.

We started imagining the flow immediately — how shoppers would move room to room, how booths would be arranged, and how to make it easy to browse, easy to discover, and easy to fall in love with something.

At 5,700+ square feet, it was a big leap… but we were all in.

Finding The Building

Opening Day: The Surprise We Didn’t Expect

We went into this assuming we might have to fill the whole building ourselves if we couldn’t find vendors.

Instead, we opened about 80% full.

A lot of vendors were just like us — people who had been trying to get into other malls and couldn’t. Many literally found us because they drove by, saw our sign, and pulled in to ask about space.

It was exciting… and honestly a little nerve-wracking. We weren’t longtime mall owners, and we weren’t even vendors before this. Everyone took a chance — we took a chance on them, and they took a chance on us.

One of the things we hear constantly — and I mean constantly — is:

“It’s so clean.”
“It smells so good in here.”
“It’s so organized.”
“Your displays are amazing.”

We take a lot of pride in that. Olde Rusty Barn has standards, and we keep them on purpose. We want every booth to feel cared for, every aisle to feel inviting, and every visit to feel like a great experience — not overwhelming chaos.

That does mean we’re picky sometimes. But we believe the store only works when everyone is on board with maintaining quality.

What We’re Known For
(And Why We Protect It)

Rooted in Belleview, Built for the Community

We love Belleview, and we’re big supporters of the local community. This store is a family business, built with a lot of hard work, a lot of learning, and a whole lot of heart.

If you’ve visited before — thank you.

If this is your first time finding us — welcome. We can’t wait for you to experience the hunt.

Come wander, explore, and find something with a story.

Thank you,
Angela Chambrot, Owner
